About the Wedding
Charlotte & Tom’s April wedding epitomised all things Springtime. The pair wished to have a fresh, floral and bright feel about the day with a focus on the British countryside. They achieved this perfectly through exceptional attention to detail, a pastel colour palate and seasonal flowers. Our thanks to the couple and photographer Ellie Mac for allowing us to share their day with you.
When deciding on their perfect venue, Charlotte mentioned “We had done some research online before, knowing that we wanted something reasonably local to us, and a place with beautiful grounds. Given that we didn’t want to get married in a church, it was also really important to me that the ceremony room and reception room were separate spaces.”
They made a shortlist of 3 venues from their online research, with Crockwell being the first to view and reserved 23rd April 2022 on the day of their viewing.
In their own words, “We were really drawn to how beautiful it is, from the long drive up, the wildflowers lining the lane, the beautiful bar area and intimate ceremony room, and a separate dance floor! It’s rare to have so much space, without space doubling up (e.g. moving tables away to make a dance floor).
On top of that, meeting Bay and Hermione, it was so clear how much heart and love goes into Crockwell. It’s not just a business venture, it’s home. And that feeling we got from everyone we met swayed it for us.”
Hibiscus Floral & The Rustic Wedding Company helped bring their fresh, floral feel to life while decorating the marquee and they used a mixture of both rustic & round tables as well as white ladder-back chairs for their ceremony and cross-back chairs for their wedding breakfast. Charlotte & Tom were one of the first couples to dance the night away on our newly refurbished dancefloor too.
Offering advice to future couples, Charlotte & Tom recommend “Do your research on the big stuff – what’s important to you. There is a lot to organise, so have faith in the professionals!”
