Enjoy Exclusive 3-Day Access to One of the UK’s Finest Wedding Venues

Crockwell Farm was one of the first venues in the UK to host luxury barn weddings. In 1998, the Harper Family began converting the stone farm buildings to create the Crockwell Farm we know today. Since then, our venue has hosted dozens of wedding ceremonies and receptions. Today, it is widely renowned for its iconic architecture, picturesque surroundings and extensive facilities.

To ensure that our clients have an outstanding experience, Crockwell Farm has undergone various renovations throughout the years, most notably in the spring of 2020. In addition to our vaulted barn, oak-glazed entrance hall and internal marquees that provide stunning views of Northamptonshire’s idyllic countryside, our venue now features a luxury marquee space and a rustic bar with a greatly enhanced look and ambience.

As one of the best wedding venues in the UK, we want our clients and their guests to feel “at home”. This is why we strive to ensure that they can fully experience our brand of hospitality, starting with our guest accommodation. We can accommodate up to 28 guests in our nine farm cottages, all with en-suite bathrooms. They are ideal for couples looking for a homely and cosy place to rest and relax after an exhausting day of wedding preparations and celebrations.

Crockwell can offer a wide range of options for ceremonies and receptions. We have both indoor and outdoor venues, including our Orchard Pavilion and the well-manicured gardens that owner Hermione personally and lovingly cares for. No matter what your preferences, you can expect a first-rate wedding service and a venue like no other.

And the best part of hosting your wedding at Crockwell Farm is that all of our facilities and amenities are yours to use exclusively for three days.

Why Plan a Country Wedding at Crockwell?

If you and your partner are looking for an alternative to a run-of-the-mill wedding ceremony and reception, it may be worth considering a countryside or barn wedding. For a start, you will have greater flexibility compared to a traditional location. Furthermore, this type of venue is ideal for couples who would like a non-religious ceremony but are loathe to celebrate their union in a registry office. Converted barns certainly evoke a “chapel-like” appeal with their high-beamed ceilings and rustic vibe. They also have the advantage of being naturally beautiful and easy to decorate. Finally, barn and rural weddings are quite simply breathtaking. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, your ceremony and reception will be truly magical!

At Crockwell Farm, we can offer an idyllic and intimate setting for all types of weddings. We have recently improved our services and facilities to provide bespoke solutions to our clients, ensuring their enjoyment and comfort no matter how many guests they have invited.

Let’s take a closer look at Crockwell and discover why it is one of the best wedding venues for couples planning a unique and exclusive celebration.

The Vaulted Barn

Our stone Vaulted Barn is one of the original agricultural buildings from when Crockwell was still a working farm. Built in the 1700s, it was restored by the Harper family in the early 2000s. Thanks to its intimate and romantic ambience, it has been a favourite location for wedding ceremonies for many of our clients.

The Vaulted Barn can accommodate 86 people, making it ideal for small to medium-sized weddings. Furthermore, it requires little to no decoration besides a few church candles and some flowers, which we can arrange for you before the ceremony.

The Saddle Room Bar

Connecting the stone Vaulted Barn to the Starlit Marquee is the newly renovated Saddle Room Bar. Now featuring full underfloor heating, beautiful oak timbers and a cosy fireplace, the Saddle Room Bar is undoubtedly the ideal spot for catching up with family and friends before and after the ceremony.

Because no wedding should be without good cheer, the Saddle Room stocks a wide variety of wines, gins, spirits, ales and premium beers. The bar opens one hour before the ceremony and closes at 12:30am.

The Starlit Marquee

Known for its high ceilings and expansive windows, the Starlit Marquee offers guests panoramic views of the verdant Northamptonshire countryside. Large hanging hoops with foliage and a fairy-light canopy adorn the Marquee, making it a stunning venue for your wedding ceremony and reception.

The Marquee can accommodate up to 200 guests, providing you with lots of space if you are organising a large wedding. You can also have access to the venue from 2:00pm the day before so you will have ample time to decorate and transform your vision into reality.

Similar to the Saddle Room, the Starlit Marquee underwent significant renovations in 2020. It now has underfloor heating and neutral yet classic flooring so it is the perfect venue to enjoy a celebration and dance the night away.

Meanwhile, you don’t have to worry about bringing crockery, glassware, cutlery and chairs to the Starlit Marquee because we will provide them for you. We will also take care of the other decorative materials.

As mentioned earlier, don’t concern yourself with the minor details because our team will be on hand to ensure everything is ready and perfect for your big day.

The Gardens

For couples seeking to incorporate the beauty of nature into their special day, Crockwell Farm is certainly the best wedding venue in the UK for outdoor ceremonies and receptions. Surrounded by lush rolling hills and idyllic natural splendour, our venue is located within a privately owned 400-acre farm, ensuring your complete privacy.

Well-maintained gardens also feature prominently within the estate. Owner Hermione personally and painstakingly plans and maintains the gardens to ensure they are always picture-ready regardless of the time of year. If you are keen on planning an outdoor wedding, Crockwell’s gardens offer a beautiful and romantic setting for your ceremony with lots of fabulous photo opportunities.

The gardens can also serve as a fitting location for your wedding reception, particularly if you plan to tie the knot during the summer months. Just imagine offering reception drinks and canapés under the picturesque walnut tree. You can also use our gardens for outdoor games, live musical performances and other activities.

The Orchard Pavilion

The Orchard Pavilion is another option to consider if you are planning an outdoor wedding. Situated next to our well-manicured gardens, the Pavilion is home to mature lime trees, field maples, mountain ashes, and damson and cherry trees that provide shade and the opportunity to enjoy some cool fresh air. There is also a tree-lined aisle that leads to a permanent gazebo where you can exchange your vows and rings.

The Pavilion complies with all the legal requirements of a civil ceremony. It also has a sound system for music and the wedding speeches. Moreover, its convenient location paves the way for a seamless and hassle-free outdoor wedding. After the ceremony, you and your guests can immediately proceed to the manicured gardens for your reception.

It is no secret that planning an outdoor wedding can be quite a challenge, especially when you factor in the unpredictable English weather. Nevertheless, at Crockwell Farm, we always have a Plan B in mind and are prepared for any eventualities. Should the weather take a turn for the worse, you can use either the Vaulted Barn or the Starlit Marquee as your backup location for the ceremony and reception. Furthermore, we will make all the necessary adjustments to ensure that your wedding will proceed as planned, come rain or shine.

Guest Accommodation

Finding safe and cosy accommodation for your closest family and friends is quick and problem-free at Crockwell Farm. Our farmhouse and adjoining cottages come with nine spacious bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms that can accommodate members of your core wedding party for two nights. With this convenient setup, spending some relaxing time with your loved ones before and after the wedding is a complete breeze.

For guests travelling to Northamptonshire for the occasion, we will be happy to help them find nearby accommodation. We have compiled a comprehensive list of local hotels and B&Bs you can send to your guests so they can make a booking before the big day.

The Breakfast Room

As breakfasts have always been a joyful affair at Crockwell Farm, we decided to create the perfect setting. Featuring a stylish and contemporary interior, our Breakfast Room is one of the most recent additions to our venue.

Inside the Breakfast Room, you and your guests will be treated to an extensive selection of fresh fruits, toast, yoghurts and homemade granola. We also offer a cooked breakfast of free-range sausages, bacon, eggs, tomatoes and organic mushrooms. Should you prefer something lighter on the morning of the wedding, we can offer you bagels with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs instead. We are always happy to accommodate different tastes so just let us know what you require.

If you fancy something hearty and filling on the morning after the wedding, we serve our “hangover breakfast” at around 9:30am. This is an excellent time to reminisce and exchange stories before saying goodbye and setting off on your honeymoon.

No matter what type of breakfast you prefer, you can rest assured that all of our ingredients are sourced locally. In fact, the breakfasts at Crockwell are always healthy, fresh, organic and, most importantly, delicious!

Bridal Prep Room

Of course, preparing for one of the biggest days of your life can be a little stressful. At Crockwell Farm, we want the bride to feel as comfortable as possible, which is why our Bridal Prep Room is furnished with everything you could ever need to prepare for the wedding.

The room has comfy chairs, a bench, and an expansive roof light and windows that let in lots of natural light. It also has tall chairs for the make-up artist and a kitchenette with tea, coffee and snacks available for the bridal party.
