We have been hosting weddings since 2002 and in that time we have built a small but fantastic team of dedicated people who will go above and beyond to ensure your day runs without a hitch. Our three day use ensures that you have our undivided time and attention throughout with a focus on maintaining the high standards and attention to detail you will expect from a Crockwell wedding. We are on hand to help from your first show round through the planning process to breakfast the day after your wedding. </> </>
Husband and wife team Bay & Hermione Harper are the original Crockwell couple, holding their wedding reception here in 1987! Crockwell is still a working farm, but, in 1998 Bay started converting the farm buildings one by one to form the extensive facilities we have today. Bay overlooks every aspect of Crockwell from the farm to the wedding venue. He shows a lot of couples around and is in charge of the countless new projects that keep the venue up to date and constantly improving. Hermione has overseen a good number of weddings and with her valuable experience, she can guide you through every aspect of your day – avoiding potential pitfalls and making the most of your time here at Crockwell. She is also responsible for Crockwell’s wonderful gardens.
Bay and Hermione’s daughter, Amy was born and raised at Crockwell. She married husband Joe in the local church of Eydon in April 2015 and afterwards held a reception at Crockwell. Having had some time out with the arrival of her two sons, Amy is now the driving force at Crockwell, ensuring the continuity of the family business. Among other roles Amy is integral to website development and fresh ideas keeping Crockwell at the top of the list as one of the premier wedding venues in the country.
Rosie joined us in 2016 after serving in the British Army for ten years. She now runs the office with the same military efficiency and understands completely our unique offering, working with couples to achieve the wedding of their dreams. In addition Rosie helps organise our Taster and Open evenings and works closely with the Ross & Ross to ensure continuity between venue and catering. Rosie and husband Marcus welcomed their first daughter in Spring 2020 and she is gradually returning to the office.
Suzanne is our housekeeping manager as well as being a talented cook. She ensures our bedrooms are spotlessly clean and furnished with all you will need for your stay with us from fresh fruit and homemade brownies on arrival to strong coffee for the morning after. She also cooks delicious breakfast for your overnight guests; local sausages, bacon, mushrooms and free range eggs as well as Crockwell jams, marmalade, granola and fresh fruit.
Bar manager Katie has worked for us on and off in university holidays while studying for her law degree at the University of Surrey. Having completed that with flying colours, she now heads up our bar team. Katie is always smiling, ever helpful and as a recently graduated student is also fully au fait with the latest cocktail trends.
Fiona joined us in 2018 as a wedding coordinator and is here to make sure your day runs smoothly from start to finish. Fiona lives locally and has her own very successful wedding dress business, The Grey Feather. She is hugely talented and one of our recommended suppliers. She also has a great selection of decorations available to hire for Crockwell couples. You can find her selection on Instagram: The Old Dairy Decorations.
Mel is a fantastic wedding coordinator. She is diligent, thorough, and will think of every last detail so you don’t have to. She is a calm and cheerful presence and as a mum of four boys, there probably isn’t much that fazes her! Mel has also been a brilliant hand in the office while covering Rosie on maternity leave, so she has many strings to her bow.
Having had a successful career in the fashion industry, Sarah joined us as a wedding coordinator in 2019. She is a huge asset to our team with a wealth of experience working all over the world. Loved by couples for her bubbly personality and calming persona, she is a reassuring presence on your wedding day. Sarah also shows a lot of couples around and will often conduct the detailed planning meeting we hold around six months ahead of the wedding. Sarah has a great appreciation for the Crockwell ethos and there’s no question that she won’t be able to answer.
Harriet is responsible for our marketing and is also a helping hand in the office during busy periods. She organises our hugely popular Taster Evenings, where booked couples get the chance to see Crockwell at its best and start the planning process.
We have a great team of experienced and well trained bar staff who will look after your guests throughout the day. The bar is generally open for an hour before the ceremony if you choose to get married at Crockwell. The team will then ensure that the drinks flow throughout the day with your choice of reception drinks and pay bar. They can whip up a mean gin & tonic or cocktail and will make sure to keep everyone hydrated with iced water infused with cucumber, mint, lemon & lime. They are also on hand to book taxis, answer questions and generally help your guests.
We were made to feel so welcome and it was all about us (from our first visit to the moment we left) - exactly what you need when it's your wedding! I normally struggle to relax on big occasions but we trusted the staff to do a great job and they delivered - meaning we could just enjoy ourselves!
