More than just a day
Good times should never be rushed! Crockwell is exclusively yours over three days
Enjoy the beautiful countryside surroundings in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and experience a day that you will never forget. Arrive the afternoon before your wedding bringing your table plan, decorations and ‘the dress’. We will help you with last minute preparations, and go through the order of the day with you. Relax with family and friends over a meal in one of our excellent local pubs or here at Crockwell before retreating to the bridal cottage for all important beauty sleep and perhaps a bath in our deep copper tub.

Taster Evenings
For couples who have booked their wedding with us, we offer an evening of food and wine tasting here at Crockwell. The evening also aims to give you an insight as to how your evening may look and feel and gives you the opportunity of bringing your parents and friends to see the venue “dressed”.
Coordination of your day
We are on hand to help with the smooth-running of your wedding from the first enquiry until you leave for your honeymoon. We are in the office to answer any questions however big or small. We formulate an outline itinerary of your day based on the time and location of your ceremony. At a planning meeting 6-8 months before the wedding we will go through the detail of this plan to help pull your ideas together. The day before your wedding we encourage you to bring your decorations in, have a final run through the plan and practice walking down the aisle! Your wedding coordinator will be here to help with any final touches and ensure that all is set.

A star cloth light ceiling, a hardwood floor and a raised dedicated stage in an internal marquee that is attached to the main marquee – this area is generally revealed after the meal. A great benefit is that as well as providing a fabulous place to dance no tables and chairs need to be moved to make room for the band or DJ. Also the noise is slightly contained so your granny can keep sitting in her chair and continue talking while missing none of the action.
The venue is sympathetically lit, and becomes magical when darkness falls. Outside there are fairy lights threaded through the large walnut tree in the garden, and the barn and veranda have lamps and more fairy lights . Inside candles and tealights are provided, the chandeliers and all the lights are on dimmers which keeps the atmosphere during the evening.
Although the marquees look like the traditional dream wedding marquee, they are actually situated within permanent buildings which have been insulated and so can be kept at a constant ambient temperature. You don’t need to worry about being blown away, and rain and snow won’t affect you. Our 2020 upgrades included installing underfloor heating throughout the venue, and a cosy fireplace in the bar. Although of course you would love perfect weather, it will not matter from a practical point of view.
Hermione spends as much time as she can in her garden, and who can blame her; it is a lovely place to be! The gardens have many great spots for taking photos; there will always be something to see, whatever the time of year. The views from the marquee and veranda are special, and photographers find different aspects every week. If you are planning a summer wedding you are welcome to bring garden games and entertainment. Beyond the gardens, you will find acres of wildflowers and grasses, providing further spectacular scenery while also improving soil health, capturing carbon and ensuring varied and extensive habitats for our local flora and fauna.
There is plenty of parking for your guests and cars can be left overnight. Wedding guests are also welcome to camp here at the farm overnight if they wish, saving fuel on driving to a hotel or B&B.
