Our Venue

Widely regarded as one of the most stunning and naturally beautiful wedding venues in Northamptonshire

The stone farm buildings were sympathetically converted by the Harper family in 1998 and comprise of a beautiful oak glazed entrance hall, vaulted ceremony barn and pretty internal marquees with panoramic views over the rolling Northamptonshire countryside.

The venue has evolved over a period of twenty years, with a extensive renovations in Spring 2020, further improving the rustic bar and luxury marquee space and refurbishment of the the Farmhouse in 2025. The Farmhouse and cottages house eleven bedrooms with scope to accommodate up to thirty-two guests. Our extensive gardens provide stunning surroundings for outside ceremonies, entertaining and photographs or just relaxing.

Our stone vaulted barn dates from the 1700’s and forms part of the original farm buildings. In the early 2000’s, the barn which had been used as an agricultural building was lovingly restored and we started hosting small weddings and parties. Today, the barn remains the ultimate romantic location for wedding ceremonies. With a capacity of 90, very little decoration is needed other than church candles which we will light for you before your ceremony and perhaps some flowers.

Connecting the vaulted barn, starlit marquee and leading into the breakfast room is our bar. Completely refurbished in Spring 2020, the bar boasts underfloor heating throughout, beautiful oak timbers and a cosy fireplace. Our bar is a great gathering place; it is where your guests will come together before the ceremony and is used throughout the wedding day. The bar will be open from an hour before the ceremony through to closing time, usually at 12.30am. It stocks a good range of premium beers and ales including Birra Moretti, Heineken, Doom Bar and Guiness as well as a large selection of gins and spirits. The marquee at Crockwell is situated next to the bar and inside a well insulated building. It offers panoramic views of the Northamptonshire countryside through expansive windows and is the ultimate blank canvass on which to create your wedding theme. The marquee is beautiful as it comes, with a fairy light canopy, large hanging hoops with foliage and a choice of round tables with white table linen or rustic, long tables. We provide all the crockery, cutlery, glassware and chairs as well as various optional props such as the balustrade and urns. Our 2020 refurb has included the installation of underfloor heating and attractive neutral flooring throughout the marquee. Couples are encouraged to let their imaginations run wild when it comes to decorations (although in reality very little is needed; table centres are the only essential addition). Having use of the venue from 2pm the day before the wedding allows our couples the time to create their vision and is a treasured part of the Crockwell wedding experience. The marquee can host ceremonies as well as receptions for up to 200 guests.

Crockwell is a privately owned, 400 acre farm and the venue and farmhouse sit in the centre of the estate. Surrounded on all sides by fields, it is an idyllic, secluded and very beautiful spot. The gardens are lovingly maintained and planned each year by owner, Hermione who works hard to ensure that Crockwell looks beautiful throughout the year. Through the summer months in good weather, reception drinks and canapes are served in the garden under the huge Walnut tree. Garden games and entertainment are always popular and photo opportunities are abundant. Leading from the garden is our Orchard with a tree-lined aisle and a permanent gazebo which can host outside ceremonies for any number of guests.

Take a wander through the gardens and you will find our Orchard. Scattered with mature lime trees, field maples, mountain ash, cherry and damson trees, it is a very natural setting for al fresco wedding ceremonies. The pavilion provides all that is needed for the legalities of a civil ceremony as well as a great sound system for music and speeches. Post-ceremony, just waltz back up the aisle into the garden for reception drinks from the garden bar, and canapes. Of course when planning an outside ceremony, it is important to have a contingency plan in case of bad weather so we would ask you to nominate either the vaulted barn or starlit marquee as back up ceremony locations in case of rain!

Situated in the farmhouse and adjoining cottages are eleven spacious bedrooms, many of which are family rooms enabling you to accommodate the core wedding party for two nights. Gathering your closest family and friends on site the day before the wedding is a really special and exciting time and something only made possible through our three day use. The Farmhouse provides a home from home experience and the opportunity to self cater and enjoy a relaxed evening with those staying on site. Welcome suppers can also be hosted in the Breakfast Room for up to thirty two guests. See below.

Part of our 2020 renovation was the addition of this beautiful banqueting room. Adjacent to the bar and accessible through a large rolling door, our breakfast room is a stylish contemporary space to gather the troops for a big breakfast on the morning of and morning after your wedding. Breakfasts at Crockwell are a highlight. Always relaxed (great moments should never be rushed), breakfast consists of fresh fruit, homemade granola, yogurts and toast followed by a cooked breakfast of local free range sausages, bacon and eggs, organic mushrooms and tomatoes from our closest village. For a lighter breakfast on the morning of the wedding, sometimes the bridal party may opt for bagels with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Our “hangover breakfast” the morning after happens around 9.30am and is a chance to regale family and friends with the events of the previous day and bid farewell before departing into married life.

Our prep room is a room dedicated to preparations on the morning of the wedding. It features a bench with comfy chairs and mirrors for hair dressing, tall chairs to aid your make up artist, a kitchenette for tea, coffee, bubbles and snacks and loads of natural light through the enormous roof light and windows.
