2025 – A Year in Review
Crockwell News
As we look back on what has been another incredible year of celebrations, weโre reflecting on the further evolution of Crockwell and a busy year full of love.
January-February โ๏ธ
2025 started with our usual break from weddings while we carried out improvements to the venue. This January, saw Crockwell founders Bay & Hermione make the move from the Farmhouse, which has been their home for thirty years to their bolthole in the village of Eydon. Still very much involved in the business, B & H are enjoying seeing progress from their new home. January and Feb were dominated by an interior overall of the Farmhouse rooms, ready for their first guests in March. The developments provided new bedrooms, a spacious family kitchen and a cosy sitting room for our guests to relax in a home from home environment. Further improvements were made to the Vaulted Barn where we installed a huge window, bringing even more light into the venue. Outside, a bespoke new venue sign welcomes guests to the venue.
Welcome Suppers ๐ฝ๏ธ
On site welcome suppers in the Breakfast room and Farmhouse have grown and grown in popularity with many couples hosting their close wedding party for a relaxed dining experience the evening before their wedding. 2025 was the year that Ross & Ross released their new Farmhouse menu and we welcomed Dot Dining to our list of amazing recommended catering providers for welcome suppers.
Staff Update ๐ผ
January was the month that we sadly said goodbye to Office Manager Rosie, who joined us nine years ago, fresh out of the army. We were incredibly lucky to have Rosie in our team for so long, as she tackled every hurdle with supreme capability, enthusiasm and organisation.
In January, Sarah joined our planning team and hit the ground running. She now conducts many of our viewings and helps couples plan their dream wedding. Her enthusiasm is entirely infectious and she brings joy and energy to all that she does.
Sadly at the end of 2025, we will be saying bye to Craig our Bar Manager. His knowledge of the industry, leadership and organisational skills have kept the bar running like clockwork. Craig will be greatly missed and we wish him all the best in his next venture.
Sustainability ๐ฒ
Sustainability has been a core value here for decades and we are very proud to be accredited with Sustainable Wedding Alliance while director Amy is an SWA Ambassador. In February, we attended the Sustainable Wedding Alliance summit and award ceremony where we achieved 2nd in the โNet Zero Leaderโ category. We continue to be a flag bearer for venues seeking a more Sustainable business and we cannot wait to share our green recommended supplier list in the New Year, giving couples further confidence to plan their wedding with nature at the forefront. This will incorporate those in the industry who have a sustainable policy and carbon reduction plan in place and are taking those extra steps towards a sustainable future.
Afternoon Tea for Happy@Home โ
In February we hosted our annual afternoon tea for the brilliant local charity, Happy@Home. Their mission is to help reduce feelings of isolation for elderly people across Northamptonshire enabling them to remain living independently in their own homes. Big thanks to the local businesses who donated prizes for an ever competitive game of Bingo!
Spring ๐ชป
Spring quickly came round the corner, bursting the gardens into life with warm sunny weather. May was a busy month at Crockwell with our weddings showcase, the โLove Localโ photoshoot championing sustainability and celebrating the talent you can find on your doorstep. We also celebrated a very personal wedding with Director, Joeโs brother marrying Megan in Eydon Church followed by a spectacular Crockwell Reception.
Summer โ๏ธ
The Summer months blessed us with gorgeous wildflower displays that made an impactful arrival to Crockwell along the driveway. We loved sharing photos from our Summer weddings and look forward to seeing them bloom again in 2026.
We were lucky enough to host the Maids to Measure x Little Notes Flowersโs photoshoot back in June, which featured some stunning pastel coloured florals and tablescapes that perfectly matched with Maids to Measureโs bridesmaid dresses.
August was the month that we were featured as โVenue of the Monthโ with The Wedding Edition, which we were very excited for, as they are a high-end digital wedding magazine and platform for discerning couples, providing the ultimate inspiration.
Autumn ๐
Autumn brought along rich colours in the garden and grounds and the venue became wrapped in the warmth and charm that the season brought. There is truly something magical about Autumn weddings with the golden light, crisp air and rich tones. Not only did we host some glorious weddings during this season, we also welcomed our booked couples to our second Wedding Showcase of the year in September. In November we held our Autumn Menu Tasting evenings, where Ross & Rossโs food went down a treat!
Featured Weddings โจ
2025 has been the year of โFeatured Weddingsโ and we are so thankful to the couples who have kindly allowed us to share their beautiful photos and kind words from their Crockwell weddings. Their photos inspire future Crockwell couples and provide the ultimate tips for future newly-weds!
Looking Ahead… ๐๏ธ
As we look to 2026, we have some exciting plans in the pipeline. January will see our old Farmhouse annexe meeting room converted into a spacious ensuite double with garden views. With ground floor access and a self-contained layout, this new room will be a wonderful addition, bringing our total accommodation to 12 bedrooms. We cannot wait to start sharing the progress with everyone.
Thank You! ๐ค
Mostly, we have again hosted incredible weddings for our amazing couples who we cannot thank enough for putting their trust in us. It is a huge honour to play a role in your day and the joy of doing so never wanes. Thank you for another year filled with love, joy, tears and laughter. Hereโs to a great 2026! ๐ฅ
