About the Wedding

We’re very privileged to be able to share Sam & Tom’s stunning black tie winter wedding with you. Our heartfelt thanks to their wonderful photographer, Katie Ingram for these amazing images. The couple married in the vaulted barn in December before a fantastic reception and music from Mowtown Gold. Bridal Make Up by Claire Bache and full black book below.

Here’s a little more on their story and influences for their glamourous wedding.

Bride Sam says “I met Tom on my first day of secondary school when we were put into the same class at the age of 12. He was actually my first ever boyfriend – I plucked up the courage to ask one of my friends to ask him out for me while he was playing football on the playground at lunchtime with his friends! We used to leave bars of chocolate in each others lockers; it was all very cute. So we are childhood sweethearts!

Tom and I rekindled our relationship in August 2013 when we were both back from university (we hadn’t seen each other for a few years), but I remained friends with his twin sister Lara as we were all at school together. I went to her house for dinner and Tom was there, and the rest is history!

We always go to our favourite restaurant on our anniversary (San Giovannis in Sheepy Magna), and on our 6th anniversary of being together, Tom didn’t do anything out of the ordinary in arranging a lovely meal. Little did I know he was going to propose ! We were having drinks outside by the lake as we were waiting for our table, and out of the blue he just got down on one knee. He had just had knee reconstruction surgery so you can imagine the fun I had trying to pull him up off his knee, after I said yes of course! Aside from the knee incident, it was all very romantic!”

My dress is by a designer called Jesus Peiro. I always knew I wanted to get married in a Jesus Peiro dress, they are just beautiful, different, and I always loved the designs and structure of their dresses. When I first started to look for a dress, I booked in to the nearest bridal shop that stocked the designer. Fortunately, the closest place to me was Cicily Bridal, and they are just fantastic! The two ladies there are just amazing, and make everything so easy. They are such fun, and so lovely, I’m a little sad I don’t get to visit them anymore! I would honestly recommend Cicily Bridal to anyone looking for a bridal dress.

The bridesmaid dresses were from Missguided. We knew we wanted a black tie theme from day 1, so in my head I knew the kind of dress I wanted for the girls (full length, black, a train if possible) but you wouldn’t believe how difficult it is to find something like this that would be suitable for a wedding! I spotted these dresses over 12 months before our wedding (I actually bought the bridesmaid dresses before I even started looking for my own), and bought them straight away. They just look incredible on all the girls and they all have very different heights, body shapes, skin tones. I was so pleased with them!

Of Crockwell, Sam says:

Crockwell was the first venue we booked in to see. I saw it on a Facebook advert as one of my relatives had recently got married there, so thought I would take a look. We loved how rural it was, and it seemed along the lines of what we were looking for. Little did we know just how beautiful the venue really was. When we first came to see Crockwell, we had nothing to compare it to, and were really just window shopping at this point. Bay showed us round, and with every room we went into, we just fell in love with the venue over and over again. Having exclusivity of Crockwell over 3 days was an absolute winner; and we didn’t feel like we would just be another wedding in an assembly line. But it was actually Bay who really swung it for us, and all the team at Crockwell we met that day. We were made to feel like the only couple in the world who were getting married, nothing was too much trouble, no request was unreasonable, I couldn’t believe how special we were made to feel. As soon as we got in the car, I said to Tom, “this is where we are going to get married”. We didn’t see a single venue after that; it was booked!

On the day of our wedding, the team at Crockwell were absolutely fantastic, and exceeded all expectations. Again, nothing was too much trouble, and the day ran so perfectly. It was so special, and the way everyone at Crockwell goes above and beyond is like nothing we had ever seen before at a wedding. We have had a lot of comments from guests who are all absolutely in love with the venue, and have gone away to recommend it to anybody who is getting married!

We honestly cannot thank you enough for everything you did in the run up to the wedding, and on the day. The personalised touch, the regular communication, organisation and lovely people you have in your team helped in making it the best day of our lives! We had a lot of comments from suppliers, friends, and family in the couple of months before our wedding, who all said how calm we were despite our wedding being so close. I genuinely believe Crockwell had a lot to do with that. Thank you!”
