About the Wedding

Lisa & David held a beautiful reception at Crockwell in July 2021. The day was sophisticated and bespoke from start to finish, with a focus on delicious food and drink, and seasonal flowers. Reception drinks included Bombay Sapphire & tonic with granny smith apple and thyme, while the meal of 10 hour slow roasted blade of beef, cauliflower puree and crispy bacon was accompanied by English Halfpenny Green and Chapel Down wines. The theme for décor focused on beautiful English country garden flowers. Florist Sophia from Green Room, a regular at Crockwell did an incredible job bringing the couples’ vision to life.

Like many couples this year, the pair didn’t have a large range of ceremony times available to them on their new date, thanks to huge demand placing a strain on Registrar availability. They therefore decided to customise their day, moving away from tradition and holding a drinks reception in the garden pre-ceremony, before heading into the vaulted barn to say their vows and then through to the starlit marquee for the wedding breakfast. This worked really well and meant the bride & groom were also able to do a “first look,” spending some intimate moments alone together before greeting their guests.

Our thanks to their wonderful photographer, Elizabeth Young and to Lisa & David for allowing us to share their day with you.
