About the Wedding
Jess and James celebrated their wedding on a gorgeous Monday in May 2022. Although this wedding was in spring, the couple knew they wanted a beautiful deep autumnal colour scheme and a love-filled intimate celebration and that’s exactly what they created.
The couple had a relaxed morning at Crockwell getting ready and calming the nerves then made their way to get married in the gorgeous Church of St Nicholas in Eydon, one mile from Crockwell. The wedding party returned to Crockwell where guests enjoyed, in the brides words, “the picturesque beauty and countryside setting of the venue”.
A vision of a bohemian, rustic and earthy colour scheme, incorporating Jess’s South African heritage was celebrated through their floral displays, “Our florist, Romae, from Grace Florals, bought this dream into reality with lots of textured foliage, rust and terracotta tones with a pop of white to complement.” They added more rustic elements to their decoration, using a handmade polaroid-stand, gold accents in the tealight holders and picture frames and of course the large “Love” letters.
Jess and James fell in love with Crockwell because of many reasons, our exclusive 3 day use, the onsite accommodation and the beautiful setting, but the main reason was because of our wonderful team – “We felt at home from our first visit and every interaction since then was so warm and so personable. They truly care and go above and beyond in every way.”
When asked for tips for future couples Jess said “Go with your gut and trust in them to bring the vision to light. Crockwell’s website is a great place to start as reputable suppliers are listed, who all know the venue well. Finding a supplier, you click with and trust, eliminates so much stress and makes the wedding planning process more exciting and enjoyable.” Many of their suppliers used on the day were from suggestions on our website, including Jess’s dress from the amazing Serendipity Brides.
