Spring is finally here!

To celebrate the arrival of Spring, we’ve put together this guide to Spring Weddings at Crockwell. As ever, venue versatility is really important at this unpredictable time of year which provides abundant natural beauty and can also bring four seasons’ weather in a day.

Ceremony location: Outdoor or Indoor?
Our Orchard Pavilion provides the perfect backdrop for Spring wedding ceremonies, with daffodils lining the aisle, blossom on the trees and new leaves breaking their way through around the garden. This is Sarah & Ed, who married in April 2019. Just click on the image for their full wedding Feature. Images thanks to Jonathan Alexander Photography

Inside ceremonies in the Marquee
The marquee provides an equally romantic location for Spring ceremonies. You may opt for the marquee as a contingency plan for bad weather, or, like Rebecca & Seyi above, you may decide this is the perfect place to gather your friends and family and say your vows. The marquee is the ultimate blank canvas and allows you to put your own stamp on your day. From simple schemes with foliage and candles to colourful palettes and florals, it suits any theme. The far reaching views over the surrounding countryside never disappoint.

Spring is a personal favourite time of year for us, as Joe & I held our own wedding in the Chruch of St Nicholas, Eydon before a reception at Crockwell almost five years ago, in April 2015! Click on the image for more pics, thanks to Andy from Doherty Photography

A quick Pinterest trawl will show you the endless possibilities when it comes to Spring flowers and decorations. From peonies to ranunculu’s, tulips and lily of the valley, not only do they look amazing but there are some wonderful options for scent too.

And then there’s the light! Spring provides amazing light for photographs and spectacular sunsets. Perfect for sparkler shots and toasting marshmallows on fire pits.
